Our History

Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus as the chief cornerstone

"Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets." - Ephesians 2:20

As God gave inspiration to the Shalem Telugu Worship Home in Domlur, and as they were praying for the expansion of the church ministry, the beloved people made great efforts to find a suitable place for gathering in the Marathahalli and Whitefield areas.

2013-2014

WEBA Beginning 2013-2014

The Beginning of the Journey

As a result of nearly 2 years of prayer and effort, God opened doors to start the ministry in the Whitefield area, on the campus of St. Joseph's Convent. Sis. Arogyam, the in-charge of the Kannada school, cooperated by providing one classroom for worship and another room for Sunday School, covering the monthly maintenance and other expenses, thus enabling them to gather as a church.

November 2014

Gospel Meetings Begin

By the grace of the Lord, gospel meetings were conducted starting from November 2014, marking the beginning of public ministry in the Whitefield area.

February 8, 2015

The Assembly is Formed

On February 8, 2015, they began gathering as a church and breaking bread. Man of God, Varaprasad Reddy garu, was invited to this worship meeting. This new assembly was named "WhiteField Ebenezar Brethren Assembly (WEBA)."

The assembly started with 5 families sent from the Shalem Telugu Worship Home (STWH) church:

  • Bro. James family
  • Bro. Devaputra family
  • Bro. Srinivas family
  • Bro. Praveen family
  • Bro. Uday family

At the same time, Bro. John Timothy's family came from Chennai and joined the local church fellowship. May glory be to the Lord because of these first families!

2015-2018

Ministry Expansion

With Christ as the Head, both STWH and WEBA assemblies continue to work together smoothly in the ministry. All praise to the Father God for the unity granted by the Spirit!

For the local church ministry, Bro. Srinivas, Bro. John Timothy, and Bro. Praveen were appointed as deacons to assist Elder Bro. James. Fellowship gatherings for community spread, monthly Gospel gatherings, and ministry to reach families have been started. Elder Bro. Abraham's family was sent through the Domlur assembly and carried out the local church ministry.

The way the Domlur church bore the burden for the growth of the assembly, both in the ministry of the Word and in every financial need, is truly exemplary. We can never forget their love.

Based on the need, subsequently, the 'Youth Meeting' and 'Sisters' Ministry' were started.

August 8, 2018

WEBA Expanded Space 2018

Expansion of Gathering Space

As the church grew, the gathering place became cramped, so an old lab room on the same campus was renovated, and they started gathering there from August 8, 2018. This provided space for about 80 people to gather. Thanks to God, who granted the convent management a good heart. May God give them a suitable reward!

2019

Leadership Transition

According to God's leading and the consultation of the elders of both churches in 2019, Bro. Joseph's family was appointed to serve in the Whitefield assembly, and Bro. Abraham's family was appointed to continue the ministry back in the Domlur assembly.

December 2020

A Time of Loss and Comfort

Bro. John Timothy, who was zealously continuing in the Lord's work, was called to the Lord's presence in December 2020. This separation created a void in the ministry and caused great sorrow to the entire church. Thanks to the comforting God, who comforted the family and the church.

2020-Present

WEBA Continued Growth 2020-Present

Continued Growth and Leadership

By the grace of God, many families joined the church. As the church grew and the ministry expanded, Bro. Srinivas and Bro. Praveen were appointed as Elders, and Bro. Paul Benjamin, Bro. Silas Rondla, and Bro. Immanuel were appointed as Deacons. By the grace of God, they are continuing in the ministry.

"...Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied." - Acts 9:31

Again, when the place became cramped, God gave the convent management a good heart and granted grace to expand the space. Consequently, there is now room for about 120 people to gather and worship.
